It was just another gorgeous, sunny Maui day, with subtle trade winds keeping things just cool enough to enjoy a relaxing 4th of July holiday at my favorite beach, when I heard some folks behind me remark that they had just seen a large “fish” bob out of the water very close to shore. Soon, most everyone on the beach watched in amazement as a large dolphin playfully swam around people in the water, making sure to “breach” several times so we could all get a good look at it. Then, with a flick of its tail, it was off to deeper waters. I couldn't help but think how fortunate I am to live on Maui.
Then reality set in and I realized I'd better get this Newsletter out if I want to be able to stay on Maui! Our summer “season” has come in with more “fizzle” than “sizzle”—so rest assured there are good deals on lodging and plenty of cars to rent!
