Well, we're getting the same dose of unusually warm weather that seems to be affecting many of you on the mainland--our temps in the low 90's and humidity a little higher than normal. We're expecting the return of our tradewinds tomorrow, which will cool things down and maybe bring in a few showers (the warm, tropical kind).
How's our real estate market doing? Things here are always a little different than more "traditional" mainland markets (ours being a vacation/resort market). A serious reduction in number of transactions supports the trend towards a slow down, but we are still not seeing huge (some--but not huge) reductions in prices, nor do I think we will. Motivation on the part of sellers is not as great as your local community may be, but I am seeing many sales closing from 3% to 10% under asking price. So, if you're looking for a good buy in Maui real estate, now is the time to demonstrate your good negotiating skills; you may be pleasantly surprised with the results!
