Aloha!

My newsletter is a little late this month because I just returned from a 2-week visit to my old home town, Santa Cruz, CA, including six decadent days touring Wine Country. It's always good to get off "The Rock" for awhile, but when you live Maui, it's also good to get back home! I admit that I occasionally think about what it would be like to live on the Mainland again, but after a taste of the fast pace and hustle and bustle, I'm very happy to be back on my restful little island. It's hard to get away from those warm, sunny days, balmy nights, aqua-blue ocean, and beautiful sunsets!

Our summer crowd is starting to trickle in. The hotels are filling up and once-empty seats at popular restaurants host visitors from all parts of the globe. As I was searching our MLS to select these properties, I was surprised at how low the inventory is at many of these complexes. Although prices remain low and show little upward movement, number of sales have remained relatively strong on Maui over the past several months. It will be interesting to see when reduced inventories begin to affect pricing--the old "supply and demand" syndrome
