I was hoping our Market Statistics through June would be available for this month's newsletter, but unfortunately they are not quite ready for publication; I will have them for you next month.  It will be interesting, I believe, to compare our first six months of '07 with the first six months of 2006.  One thing I think we will see is that number of sales of single-family homes are up about 20% from last year, while sales of condominiums are down about the same amount--20%.  It's important to remember, though, that due to the resort status of many parts of Maui, we attract a wide range of buyers with different objectives--from people who live here and need homes to live in, to high-end vacation condominium buyers making more of a discretionary purchase.  I'll go into more detail by analyzing our first six months in my August Newsletter.
